Excel Services and Delegated Security

Just as with other BI front-end technologies in a Microsoft environment, Excel Services worksheets that access back-end data (e.g. Cubes, Databases) require Kerberos delegation configuration.  However, most MOSS installations are initially configured for NTLM security, and making the transition over to Kerberos becomes a challenge since all the things done by installer programs have to be done by hand.

 If you're trying to get your Excel Services worksheets to refresh to a back-end database and receive "Data Refresh Failed" error messages, odds are Excel Services hasn't been configured to delegate security. 

 1. Open Command Prompt
 2. cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN
 3. stsadm -o set-ecssecurity -accessmodel delegation -ssp SharedServices1
 4. stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs
 5. iisreset

I am not much of a guy who thinks in so deeply about web design but I think your post had some valid points in it. Like designers are forced to design stuff within the limited code available and not go beyond it, their innovation is somewhat limited but still I think Web Design won't die! I agree that Amazon and other some big sites won't have a blog but now a days it's very important to have some sort of option available so people can quickly communicate their thoughts. I think Amazon if wants to shift it to that, they can get a customized CMS for themselves.

I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this ...so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I'll just keep working on it one day at a time.

Perhaps you have considered adding more video clips about security to your weblog posts to hold the visitors further entertained? What you said made a lot of sense.  But, think about this, what if you added a little content?  I mean, I dont want to tell you how to run your blog, but what if you added something to maybe get peoples attention?  Just like a video or a picture or two to get people excited about what youve got to say.  In my opinion, it would make your blog come to life a little bit.

I am having some difficulty trying to load your weblog. I've been read it many times before and never gotten something like this, but now when I try to load something it just takes a little while (7-14 minutes ) & then just stop. Hi. this is kind of an -unconventional- question , but have other visitors asked you how get the menu bar to look like you've got it? I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this ...so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I'll just keep working on it one day at a time.
